The incident took place around 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 18, when in the area of 52 Drumlin Road in Westport.
Upon arrival, officers located only one vehicle. The second vehicle, also occupied by two juvenile passengers, was driven from the scene by the adult passenger prior to police arrival, Westport Police said.
The operator of that second vehicle, later identified as Douglas Robinson, of Westport, remained on scene. Officers located all occupants of both vehicles and were able to confirm no one was injured during the incident.
In speaking with Robinson, officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and observed he appeared to be under the influence, they added.
He was asked to perform a field sobriety test and the other tests, which he refused, police said.
Robinson was arrested and brought to headquarters where he was charged with DUI and 2 counts of risk of injury to a child.
He was released after posting $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on May 30.
